Thailand Work

In January 2023 I left Finland to go work for FutureSense Foundation in northern Thailand as a Group Mentor & Project Implementor for 3 months. During this time I mentored an univerity group from Australia and two college gropus from the UK. We worked closely with schools in town and in the surrounding hill tribes, in temple schools and the local community through workshops and community clean ups. The workshops were about education, health and livelihood. With the groups thw works focused mostly in Mae Sariang area, but we also spent some time in Elephant Nature Park that does amazing work with many different animals and was founded by Lek Chailert. After I had been working for FutureSense for a while they asked me to plan a new project for them, since I have a degree in clothing design and they had found in needs assesments that especially in the hill tribes there is a need for more livelihood projects. Because I had become familiar with projects already done and coming up and how the foundation works, I was able to plan a project for the livelihood programme that combines embroidery and climate action.
